Britain's got talons! Rider and his golden eagle bring 4,000-year-old sport from Mongolia to Dartmoor

The Daily Mail has highlighted a fascinating example of the adaptability of racehorses, in a story about Martin Whitely, 49, who has brought a 4,000 year old sport of horsemen using golden eagles to hunt food to Dartmoor. 

In 2016, over 12,500 horses were registered with Retraining of Racehorses (British Horseracing’s official charity for rehoming and retraining racehorses) as active in other equine disciplines outside of racing.
